April's Museum Day

Hi there! Haven't blogged for quite a while since I've been busy or simply too forgetful!

A few things:
- Watched the Avengers yesterday when it opens! It's BEYOND AWESOME! For all of you who haven't catch it for god knows what reason, go to your nearest theaters and go watch it. Now. NOW.
- I'm currently training for Japan Foundation's Speech Contest for Jabodetabek. It's on May 12th and I'm training like mad! So excited!
- Moved to a new rented room and still coughing non stop because the bed is so dusty. My allergies are killing me each morning. Le sigh, but I have to count my blessings!
- Went to Museum Bank Indonesia and Museum Fatahillah last month! Picture spam below!

We rode the (driver from hell) Metro Mini then Transjakarta to Kota! It was my Japanese Lecturer's first time on a Trans Jakarta :) Waited for so long for the bus to Kota (in heat!) and felt like we just won a lottery when a bus finally came. #lifeinjakarta

First stop: Museum Bank Indonesia! Obviously I'm not gonna comment on every picture retelling what the picture's all about since I'm basically too lazy. heh.

The building was so spectacular against the bright blue sky! Had fun kidnapping my friend's camera (since i forgot mine) and took so many photos.

 Then we're off to Kota Tua, Fatahillah was meh, and I've been there too many times already so I didn't take any photos. We walked around then tried some rujak and Kerak Telor :P YUMS! Okay, so i basically like anything with eggs in it, but it was really good kay!

 

Off to some late late lunch at Grand Indonesia then of course, Japanese student and a Japanese, of course we have to have Karaoke Time! 

All in all was a great day, had lotsa fun going around Jakarta with my Japanese Literature friends!

Oh, the watermark on my pictures are annoying, but I've been dealing with a serial plagiarist lately, so.

Long overdue post of my face(s)

Hello!

Just got around to edit my pictures and looooong overdue sets of photos from CNY 2012!
I've been on 10 days term-break and now classes are starting.

And here's how I look on the first day of school:

NO LAH, here's how I actually look like.

So yeah, Chinese New Year. Mum, Aunt, Uncle and I went out for two days straight of gastronomical delights. I'm truly pigging! 

Did my nails myself! Red with black leopard printed tip. I'm super proud of myself huahaha.

Mum always cook meesua on special ocassions like birthdays and new years! It's soooo goood.

There are three dogs in this picture.

Went down the dining table because I wanted to get Juno's picture and he went and act 'no paparazzi please'

Vanilla fruitcake from Harvest and my hongbaos! Both very yum ahahaha

Wore yellow that day. Yellow = gold = more fortune? heheh.

One-legged outfit photo. Asked mum to take my picture, and out of seven or so shots, this is the only one not blurry. The lighting at the mall is quite bad.

Had dinner at Ni Hao Restaurant in Alam Sutera's Flavor Bliss. Came like around 4 and got a nice table because the early diners went home already hahaha

Major guilt. .____. I'm hoping they're fake shark fins. But they're so good.. 

Haagen Dazs ice cream for desert! Asked for choco-raspberry. I'm drooling just remembering how nice it tasted. Choco sweetness and Raspberry sour-sweetness...

That was my Chinese New Year! I'm half Chinese despite not looking too Chinese and people somehow mistaken me for Japanese -.- so sometimes when I speak Chinese my friends were majorly shocked.

Me: *speaks Chinese*
Friend: WHAT? Say again?
Me: *repeats*
Friend: Huh you can speak Chinese? You're not Chinese, are you?!
Me: ...no, I'm African.

Spent half of the holidays rehearsing and MC-ing the Breaking Announcement of my English Club's event, The 2012 Asian English Olympics : Inspiring Asia. *cue applause* MC must be precise, no? :P
Every time I'm going out or doing something, I always plan the outfit beforehand and if I can't plan any outfit, I usually ended up not being able to go/not wanting to go/the trip busted. So this convo happened:

Me: What should I wear to MC?
Committee: Umm, semi-formal will be fine. Like a nice top with leggings...
Me: That's not semi-formal. I'm wearing a dress.
Committee: ...

You can never be over-dressed. *cue devil laughter* Went full on with the make-up but it didn't look too much on camera, apparently.

With one of my friends, the Event Division Committee. And no, that's not what I'm wearing to the stage.

Wore a green and black Biyan dress instead. In this photo I was in 12cm heels and these guys are still taller than me! I'm originally 171cm so that made me 183 cm okay! They're mad tall! On my right is my 'manager' and my partner's on my left :)

So that was how I spend my holidays. Mundane school week coming up!

Exams Are Fun.

I'm being sarcastic on the titling, if it's not obvious enough.
Anyway, yeah, I've been studying for exams, getting out of things I shouldn't be doing in the first place, and getting my life back in track. Haven't blogged or facebooked the CNY photos yet because I'm THAT busy. *flips hair*

So much has happened these past few weeks. Some good, some could be better.

Irrelevant to how my weeks had gone by, here are some instagram-like/instagram-wannabe shots. (Were i to have an iPhone)

My M3 simcard broke the other day! I was studying at Starbucks TA with a friend and the boyfriend and suddenly my phone started going 'Simcard Not Allowed'.
We were busy teaching my friend so I paid very little attention to it, and just restarted the phone. When it still displayed the same writing, I ignored it. We studied for 5 and a half hours probably? It was soooo tiring and had it been me I'd never would study that hard.
Super tired, Boyfriend and I went back to his place and I swapped my simcard with his. His worked fine in my phone, so I figured it must be the simcard itself. I then called the customer service.
The first call was interrupted and got cut off by itself, FML.
The second call was picked up by someone who sounded like he was still in-training or something.

Customer Service: jadi tulisannya Simcard is Allowed ya mbak? (which he pronounced ah-lowd)
Me: bukan, Simcard NOT Allowed.
Customer Service: iya, simcard Neh-lawd.
Me: ...iya iya.

He told me I should go to the nearest Graha Indosat and bring my simcard to be replaced. The worse part is where he told me to bring the simcard itself along with an identity card, the simcard's case, and if I don't have it anymore, I should bring 5 top-up vouchers that I've used to fill the card, or 10 phone contacts in the card, and I should bring a letter with Rp 6.000,00 legal stamp on it and so on and so on. I didn't listen anymore because it's too much trouble, and because he sounded like he had a manual book opened up and he's just reading it aloud.

Hello? All you need to do is make sure the simcard has the same identity on it with what I bring along and done! Why on earth do I have to go through such trouble digging up my trash for my top-up vouchers! Afterall, it's YOUR fault my simcard is suddenly broken! I don't go around smashing my phone into things and suddenly it broke?! How on earth?

In the end I just figured I'd simply change my number and throw away the stupid M3 one. Why would I bother replacing the simcard if at my own home I couldn't get any signal?

Bought another number and what do you know? I got 49k price for the whole 3 months of full Blackberry Service (browsing, chatting, push mail)

Moral of the story: ditch M3.
