23rd December - Week on photos

Hey there!

Nothing like a sudden virus attack that got you down on fever and excruciating stomachaches for four days. I'm alright now, and back home for the holidays! :) So excited to be on holidays finally. A few photos from the last week or so :)

I had a good rest in my cozy little room... Little details I snapped during my stay back home. My nightstand and a few pictures up on my wall. Definitely need more frames. I like how they make my room a lot warmer. I'm a sucker for warm colors!

Read magazine to pass time..

Until my sweet boyfriend came to visit (sacrificing a class) and brought along his PS3! I suck at games, but had fun bashing the controller on Tekken and watching him play Assasin's Creed. Here's him patting sleeping Haruko while playing Creed.

Healed and went back to the rents and attend classes. My keys are adorned by a Thai Elephant and an amulet keychain from Turkey.

Went to see Mission Impossible 4! It was a thrilling movie with good plot and advanced-but-realistic looking gadgets. Except Tom looked short. ehem.

His vege Bolognese Spaghetti and my (also vege) Mushroom and Cream Fettuccine. Not bad, but not exactly perfect. Big NO for a spicy Bolognese.

His awesome black and green Converse :) Put him in a necklace I put together with a 'J' pendant. He said the J is for his last name, though. .__. *points self sadly*

Favorite picture of all, him helping me cook dinner! He actually fried the chicken himself, and it's finger-licking goood!

That's it! Happy Holidays to ya'll!

three's a charm

My life in university turned out to be not as bad as the early semesters. Re-studying Japanese wasn't so bad anymore the moment it turned harder. Odd as it is, I think the boyfriend has a role in it.
I never find it a good thing to re-find a passion in something due to another reason completely unconnected to it. But this is totally different. I love Japanese language and culture, and I always will. I've just been gifted with another happiness in my life. A happiness that also share the same passion and love as me. : )

We're bookworms, movie-geeks, lazy-weekends type of lovers. No loud clubs, not much fancy dinners, and I kinda like it that way.

When you're happier in life, you'd find your days brighter, and bad things seemed to have half an impact. To be honest, I've never been this happier and active in life.
I pay attention to school even more, study a little bit more when I have to, actively involved in my university's English Club, count my expenses, and somehow a bit more obsessed with cleanliness and tidiness. The last one started just a few weeks ago without any fathomable reasoning whatsoever. I sweep my rented room more than twice a day, I cant stand clutter, routines calm me down, and I tidy the house (which threw my mum into an absolute silent observing mode).

I can't be bothered with the grammar of this post right now, as I'm gonna go back to doing my assignments, and maybe jet off to find the boyfriend's Xmas present.

*OH OH OH! Chanel Pre-fall 2012 is GORGEOUS to say the least.

It was inspired by India and the show was done IN India. Having said this, you must thought Karl indulged himself in a month or two in an Indian inspirational meditation in Bombay or whatsoever, but NO. He never does. Like previous Shanghai collection, Karl thought being inspired by India does not mean one have to go to India, on the contrary, it's far more inspiring not to go.

As i read his quote, I can't help but sneer. Nevertheless, seeing the collection makes me realize that what he did was showing the world how to incorporate Indian elegance to fashion. It's not in-your-face Indian costumes and accessories, it's more chic, more wearable (if you have a wad of bills just hanging around in your pocket), and of course, more marketable. In this crisis, you must sell fashion. Karl definitely know how to do it.

Glossy Satin tulip skirts, golden accessories and shoes, those boots, incorporated with signature Chanel tweed, whites, and cap-toes. Chanel's Indian chic indeed.

OKAY, assignments now.

four letters

I think it was two days ago, when he put my shoes on the second shelf of his plastic shoe rack.

My red shoes seems as if it had been there all along. Against the blue plastic, on the left side, just calmly sitting there.
If my shoes could be so well adjusted to it's place, there was no way I was not. I felt so at home, so comfortable, so stripped bare at where I was that time. It felt like a revelation, where you suddenly found out that you belong there in the first place, and stupid you just barely realized it.
Like you've been painstakingly selecting text in word and right-clicking them to choose 'copy', then placing your cursor at the right place to right-click again and choosing 'paste'. All that work when you realize that there's CTRL+C and CTRL+V. You smacked your forehead real hard when you first found the shortcut, then of course, you never bothered to right-click and choose the drop down menu ever again. That kind of feeling.

Getting there involved being blind and ignorant.
Years ago, my Chinese teacher, and old, blind in one eye man once told his students, including me, a phrase which meaning I won't forget. He'd just came back from Singapore and brought along scrolls of calligraphy to put up on our classroom wall-- which was his garage. While showing us one of the scrolls, he translated the artistically unreadable Chinese characters. Sadly, I was 12 at the time and I could not remember the exact phrase now.
The phrase meant something like, 'Man will avoid bitter and find sweetness'. Unlike any other preaching type of proverb, the saying was some type of reminder of how human nature is like. I was a kid back then, but even I did realize that the four letters showed how simple us humans are.
Eight years later, I realize that the aforementioned reminder is not just talking about human character, it's also a reminder of a mistake, and I had fallen into it.

A lot of things in this life are bitter, and everything worthy of your efforts WILL be bitter. Duties, assignments are not very pleasurable, but it's what you live for. What if humans were not given any challenges, any tasks, any temptations? Humans will not have will to walk, to breathe, to stand up, to even live. What is there to live for when everything tastes sweet? A mixture of bitterness followed by sweetness is what I'm living for. Sweetness is sticky as it is, and no matter how much I feel at home in it, I do not want to throw off the balance of my life. I haven't worked hard enough and endure all the bitterness to taste the sweet.
